James England Cotter (1942-2014) was a priest and writer known for writing and reworking hymns, as well as his courageous contribution to the Gay Christian Movement (now OneBodyOneFaith after some years known as the Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement)

The archive is currently undergoing full inventory and arrangement. It is not currently listed on the Library’s online catalogue but basic finding aids are available on request. Please send requests to email@example.com.
All archives and special collections can only be accessed via a Request to Read Restricted Items form, which must be submitted at least 14 days in advance of your visit.
Arrangement and Description
The collection mainly consists of handwritten and typed notes, as well as appointment books and diaries. The archive was deposited at Gladstone’s Library two years after his death in 2014 and forms part of the Library’s ‘Radical Theology’ archives, along with the archives of Don Cupitt, John Robinson, Robert Jeffrey, and Eric James.
